Vegetable Sculpting Competition

What a wonderful half term we have had in Forest School. Time outside in the Autumn sunshine, den building and enjoying the woodland, cooking with wonderful Autumn fruits and finally the jewel in the crown – House Vegetable Sculpting. A bit different this year we have taken inspiration from Carl Warner and Giuseppe Arcimboldo and created portraits and landscapes using our fruit and vegetables. Great team work with everyone sharing ideas and democratically working out their designs.

Cutting skills from our cookery were put to good use in the outdoors and the remains were a tasty treat for our woodland friends. There were Halloween gardens, woodlands, villages farms, ships, a portrait and even Windsor Castle and the children explained their ideas with enthusiasm and detail. Now we all wait with baited breath to hear Mrs Chalmers verdict on winners and House Points.
