After last week’s success and excitement of Outdoor Learning Day, this week has had a bit more of a serious undertone. With Remembrance Day having been on Thursday all of the year, groups were preparing to honour those fallen. The poppies on our gates were handmade by our pupils using old plastic bottles and paint in a further effort to reduce plastic going to waste. The whole school took part in a Remembrance Assembly where we heard poems about the wars and their heroes, were taught about how children were sent to the countryside away from their families to keep them safe and how the bomb shelters kept many alive during the Air Raids. Despite not having a collection this year, we hope you could donate to The British Legion should you not have already.
