On a cold and frosty Monday Year 4 went on a Geography Field Trip to Caversham. We had been working on map work and the features of different settlements both historic and modern. We took the opportunity of a real life experience to explore our own village. We mapped the different shops and facilities in the village and found there are plenty of cafes and hair dressers! As part of our Maths studies we have been focusing on money, so we looked at the prices of drinks in Costa and worked out what coins we would use to buy different drinks before buying a drink and checking our change. The final part of the morning with the sun shining was a walk up to Caversham Court Gardens where we looked at the historical changes to the once manor house site before painting some beautiful watercolours of the landscape to illustrate the beauty and diversity of the landscape in Caversham. We all felt very lucky to have such a tranquil place on our doorstep whilst still having all the essential shops and facilities for daily life.
