International Admissions Procedure

We welcome International Families at Hemdean House.

If you are interested in a place for your child, please contact the school to arrange an appointment with Mrs Chalmers, our Head Teacher at a mutually convenient time to have a guided tour of Hemdean House School. Alternatively, we can arrange a video call via Zoom or WhatsApp.

Once you have spoken to the Head Teacher and would like to register your child at Hemdean House School we ask that you complete the Registration Form and return it to the school, indicating when you would like your son or daughter to join Hemdean House School.  Upon receipt of the completed Registration Form, £150 Registration Fee and a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate, you will receive communication from the school confirming that your child is on Hemdean House School’s entry list.

A firm offer of a place is usually made subject to the Head Teacher meeting the child via video call or school visit. Along with the offer, the Acceptance Agreement, Terms and Conditions for Admission and the School Rules will be sent to you.

On receipt of the completed Acceptance Agreement form and £1500 deposit, further information will be sent to you. Should the fees be paid by the parent’s employer, we require a deposit of £3000 due to the proportionally higher admin costs.

As many international parents are working in the UK on fixed-term contracts, we are happy to agree a period of how long the pupils will be at our school. £750 of the deposit will be returned to you or £1500 to the employer when your child completes his / her education with us at the end of Year 6 or the pre-agreed period, whichever occurs first and on the condition that all books and school property are returned and all financial obligations have been met.  In the event that the pupil’s education is prematurely terminated at Hemdean House School, the deposit will not be refunded.
