Recycling Week!

16th September 21

It was Recycling Week this week and the children have shown their amazing knowledge in both Forest School and our Assembly. The children have all investigated how long a variety of items take to decompose and created timelines to represent their thinking. Some things were very surprising others shocking. A minimum of 450 for a plastic bottle to break down is shocking. In the forest, we are always finding rubbish but in true Hemdean style, they become useful additions to decorate or accessorize our dens! Year 1 and 2 recycled milk bottles into a bug hotel filled with wonderful nooks and crannies for our minibeasts! It is a privilege to work with children who show such empathy with their environment and the world and I am confident the future is bright with these young people in charge.
