World Book Day 2023- Roald Dahl Theme

3rd March 23

Wow! What a wonderful day we all had for World Book Day this year! Everyone looked absolutely incredible and it was great to have so many of Roald Dahl’s books represented throughout the school. A big thank you to parents for the thought and effort put into the costumes too.

The day started with an assembly for all the children and staff members to show off their costumes and have a photo shoot! This got the children excited to start the fun activities the teachers had planned for them.

Throughout the day there were many brilliant activities put on for the children to enjoy; the opportunity to create their own class book to be published into a real book, a Roald Dahl Scavenger Hunt to find the names of three of his books, as well as to test their knowledge of Roald Dahl and a book swap so children could swap an old book for a new one.

There have been some amazing World Book Day Potato creations that children have completed at home too, with the winners being Rosie (KS1), Mara (Lower KS2) and Max (Upper KS2).

It goes without saying that all of the children had a fantastic day, shown through smiles and enthusiasm throughout the day, showing it was a huge success!
